1. Introduction — Unraised Genius Network (18+)
The Unraised Genius Network is a professional networking space for adult members of Unraised Genius. It exists so students, graduates, mentors, coaches, counselors, and professionals can find each other, share opportunities, and build careers.
1.1 Contract
When you create an Unraised Genius Network profile, or otherwise use the Network, you agree to this Member Agreement and to our Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Network.
You are entering into this contract with Unraised Genius ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Unraised Genius Network (the "Services").
1.2 Members and Visitors
When you register and join the Network you become a Member. If you view Network content without registering, you are a Visitor. This Agreement applies to both, and Members are additionally bound by the Community Guidelines.
1.3 Change
We may change this Agreement, our Community Guidelines, and our Privacy Policy as the Services evolve. If we make material changes we will give notice through the Services or by email so you can review them before they take effect. Continuing to use the Network after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree, you may close your Network profile.
2. Obligations
2.1 Service Eligibility
The Network is limited to people who are 18 years of age or older. To use the Network you must (a) be at least 18, (b) have one account in your own real name, and (c) not be barred from using the Services under applicable law or by us.
Members under 18 keep full access to the rest of Unraised Genius — dashboards, the student life cycle, recommendations, transcript uploads, and their support team — but cannot create a Network profile, send invitations, message members, or post to the feed.
Creating an account with false information, including a false date of birth, is a violation of this Agreement and may result in removal.
2.2 Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens through your account. You agree to use a strong password, to keep it private, and to tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not transfer or share your account with anyone else.
2.3 Payment
If you buy a paid Service from us, you agree to pay the applicable fees and taxes and to the additional terms shown at purchase. Failure to pay may result in the paid Service ending. Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. Unless the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. We may change our prices with reasonable notice, effective at the start of your next subscription period.
2.4 Notices and Messages
You agree that we may give you notices and messages inside the Services or at the contact information you provide, including email. Keep your contact information current. You agree that notices sent electronically are effective when sent.
2.5 Sharing
The Network offers ways to share your profile, posts, comments, and messages. Content you share may be seen by other Members, and in some cases by Visitors, depending on your visibility settings. Choose carefully what you share. Do not post other people's personal information — including phone numbers, home addresses, or private contact details — and do not share content you do not have the right to share.
3. Rights and Limits
3.1 Your License to Unraised Genius
You own the content and information you submit to the Network, and you grant Unraised Genius a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, translate, and display that content in order to operate, promote, and improve the Services, subject to your settings. You can end this license by deleting the content or closing your account, except where the content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it, or where we must keep it to comply with law.
You are responsible for content you post, and you confirm you have the rights needed to post it. We may, but are not required to, review, moderate, hide, or remove content that violates this Agreement or our Community Guidelines.
3.2 Service Availability
We may change, suspend, or end any Service, or modify prices prospectively. We do not promise to store or keep showing any content you have posted. The Services are not a storage service; you agree we have no obligation to store, maintain, or provide you a copy of your content except as required by law.
3.3 Other Content, Sites and Apps
The Network includes information and links from third parties, including rankings, eligibility resources, and profile links members add themselves. We are not responsible for third-party content or sites, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Use your own judgment before relying on third-party information or contacting anyone outside the Services.
3.4 Limits
We may limit how you use the Services, including limits on connections, invitations, messages, posts, and profile visits, and we may restrict or close accounts that abuse the Services. We do not provide the Services for the purpose of harvesting member data, sending unsolicited commercial messages, or recruiting minors.
3.5 Intellectual Property Rights
We reserve all intellectual property rights in the Services. The Unraised Genius names, logos, and designs are our trademarks. Other trademarks and logos used in the Services are the marks of their respective owners.
3.6 Recommendations
The Services use automated systems, including machine learning, to suggest members, programs, schools, scholarships, and action steps. These recommendations are informational and are not admissions, athletic-eligibility, financial, or legal advice. Always confirm requirements and deadlines with the school, program, or governing body directly.
3.7 Feedback
If you give us ideas or feedback about the Services, you agree we may use and share it for any purpose without compensating you, and that you are not required to give it.
3.8 Your Advertising Content
If you post promotional or recruiting content, it must be truthful, clearly identify you, comply with applicable advertising and student-privacy law, and follow our Community Guidelines. We may remove promotional content at our discretion and may limit advertising in Network messages.
4. Disclaimer and Limit of Liability
4.1 No Warranty
TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". Unraised Genius DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT CONTENT POSTED BY MEMBERS IS ACCURATE, OR THAT ANY OUTCOME — INCLUDING ADMISSION, ELIGIBILITY, EMPLOYMENT, OR FUNDING — WILL RESULT FROM USING THE SERVICES.
4.2 Exclusion of Liability
TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, Unraised Genius WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OPPORTUNITY, REPUTATION, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM THE SERVICES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). THESE LIMITS APPLY EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE, AND DO NOT APPLY WHERE THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW THEM.
5. Termination
You may end this contract at any time by closing your account. We may end it, or restrict your access, if you breach this Agreement or our Community Guidelines, if your conduct puts other members at risk, or if we are required to do so by law.
After termination, the following survive: our rights to use feedback you gave us, your obligation to pay amounts owed, the sections on Rights and Limits, Disclaimer and Limit of Liability, Governing Law and Dispute Resolution, and General Terms.
6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
You and Unraised Genius agree that the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to this Agreement or the Services, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or account security.
If you are a consumer protected by the law of your country of residence, nothing in this section removes rights that law gives you.
Before filing a claim, we ask that you contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
7. General Terms
If a court finds part of this Agreement unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not act on a breach, that does not waive our right to act later. This Agreement, together with the Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and us about the Services and replaces any earlier agreements.
You may not assign or transfer this Agreement without our consent; we may assign it to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale. There are no third-party beneficiaries. We are not required to give notice of changes in ways other than those described here.
8. Dos and Don'ts
Unraised Genius is a professional community. These commitments apply to every Member of the Unraised Genius Network.
- Do: comply with all applicable laws, including student-privacy and anti-discrimination laws.
- Do: use your real name and provide accurate information about yourself.
- Do: use the Network in a professional manner and treat every member with respect.
- Don't: create a false identity, impersonate anyone, or use another member's account.
- Don't: post or send content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, bullying, sexually explicit, or violent.
- Don't: share phone numbers, home addresses, or other private contact details — yours or anyone else's — in posts, comments, or messages.
- Don't: send spam, chain messages, unsolicited sales pitches, or multi-level marketing offers.
- Don't: run scams, request money or gift cards, or promise admissions, scholarships, or eligibility outcomes you cannot deliver.
- Don't: scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Services, use bots or automated tools, or bypass any access limit or security feature.
- Don't: post content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or confidential information.
- Don't: attempt to contact, recruit, or arrange to meet a minor through the Services.
- Don't: interfere with the Services, including uploading viruses or overloading our systems.
9. Complaints Regarding Content
We respect the rights of others and we take reports seriously. Every post, comment, and message in the Network has a report option, and reported content is reviewed by our moderation team.
If you believe content in the Network infringes your copyright or trademark, or otherwise violates this Agreement, send us a notice that identifies the content, your relationship to it, and how to reach you. We may remove content, warn members, or restrict accounts in response.
